Let us guide you on how to take care of your teeth with braces now.
First off, let’s look at how to brush your teeth while having braces on them.
1. Make sure to use the special orthodontic toothbrush as prescribed by us to ensure thorough cleaning of the teeth.
2. The specialized orthodontic toothbrush has its bristles arranged in such a way so as to accommodate the braces in them and brush above and below the teeth efficiently.
3. Your toothbrush kit also has a paint brush like end. This can be used to brush off any food that may get stuck on the braces.
4. There is also a small mascara wand type of brush that helps you to clean under the wire. This brush is very small and precise and hence will allow you to brush even in the most posterior region of your mouth.
5. Make sure to use your orthodontist recommended toothpaste while undergoing your braces treatment. This contains fluoride and will help keep your teeth strong.
6. You should continue to brush your teeth twice a day and also use your mouthwash.
Food if stuck around the braces for extended periods of time will lead to the development of cavities on teeth.
